The Clark Plan is a back-to-basics approach to health and wellness emphasizing simple, delicious preparations of whole foods. Clark's Smart Plate roughly approximates his recommended proportions for each food group, whereas his Smart Fat & Oil Guide shows which fats/oils to use for cooking, which to use uncooked, and which to avoid altogether. The Clark Plan has been called "Paleo with benefits," meaning the Paleo diet plus non-Paleo foods, including butter and full-fat yogurt, when appropriate. CHRISTOPHER JAMES CLARK

Christopher James Clark is the award-winning author of Nutritional Grail. He serves on the Advisory Board of Men's Health magazine (Middle East) and writes for Dr. Loren Cordain's ThePaleoDiet.com, The Huffington Post, and various other publications. Based in Dubai, Christopher strives to make nutrition practical, straightforward, and delicious.

BIOGRAPHY

Author, Teacher, Chef

Born and raised in metro Detroit, Christopher attended the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree. He then moved to Chicago to work as an analyst for United Airlines, then a Fortune 100 company. By his mid 20’s, he was ready for new challenges and new beginnings.

Christopher merged his life-long interest in nutrition with his emerging interest in cooking. He moved to Austin where for three years he studied holistic cooking and nutrition at the Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts. During this time, he established Miso Hungry, a catering and private chef operation. Eventually, his Austin success led him to the majestic shores of southern Greece.

In 2005 Christopher began managing the kitchen for Triopetra Yoga Retreat in Crete. There, his delicious creations dazzled the world’s most renowned yoga teachers and their students. With a growing reputation and scores of impressed clients, he received many exciting opportunities throughout Europe. During the yoga off-seasons, Christopher organized cooking classes in Prague, London, Paris, Munich, Madrid and many other cities.

In 2012, Christopher was based in Geneva where he worked as a consultant, teacher, and guest chef for Insens, a luxury spa and wellness center. During this period, he also worked with many elite clients while collaborating with his friend, colleague, and fellow nutrition expert, Karim Chubin.

Christopher published his book, Nutritional Grail, in 2014. It quickly garnered outstanding praise from many distinguished doctors and scientists. The book has been featured in many publications and has won three awards:

Christopher’s writing success earned him an invitation from Dr. Loren Cordain to write for ThePaleoDiet.com. Dr. Cordain is the world’s foremost expert on the Paleo diet and the founder of the Paleo movement. Christopher writes a regular column for Cordain’s website. Christopher was also invited to write regularly for The Huffington Post and Men’s Health (Middle East). Furthermore, he serves on Men’s Health’s Advisory Board as their nutrition expert.

Christopher is currently based in Dubai, where he created the menu concept for Comptoir 102, a thriving health-conscious restaurant. He teaches regular classes at Top Chef Dubai and works on many other exciting projects.
